Overview

Registered in 1973 by E. Fisher, this medium-sized variegated hosta arose as a hybrid of *Hosta* 'Crispula'. Its leaves are bright green with small undulations along the margins, gray beneath, and the plant forms a dense, rounded clump.

In the Garden

Mature clumps reach 36 inches (91.4 cm) in diameter and 22 inches (55.9 cm) in height, with individual leaves 10 inches (25.4 cm) long and 6 inches (15.2 cm) wide. Each leaf carries 10 pairs of veins. The scape rises to 32 inches (81.3 cm). This cultivar performs best in partial to full shade, typical for variegated hostas, and pairs well with ferns, astilbes, and other shade-tolerant perennials. Its medium size makes it suitable for border middles or woodland garden beds.

Care Notes

Provide consistent moisture, especially during dry periods, and apply a balanced slow-release fertilizer in early spring as new growth emerges. Slugs may damage foliage; monitor and control as needed. Deer resistance is moderate.
