Overview

Registered in 1995 as a sport of *Hosta* 'Pearl Lake', 'Granada' is a small-sized hosta distinguished by its blue-green leaves with yellow-gold margins. The leaf surface carries a glaucous bloom on both sides, and the margins are slightly rippled, creating a subtle textural contrast.

In the Garden

'Granada' reaches a mature diameter of 16 inches (40.6 cm) and a height of 14 inches (35.6 cm), with a semi-upright growth habit. It performs best in partial to full shade, typical for blue-leaved hostas, where its gold margins hold color without scorching. Its compact size makes it suitable for the front of borders, rock gardens, or container plantings, and it pairs well with ferns, heucheras, or small woodland perennials.

Care Notes

Provide consistent moisture, especially during dry periods, and apply a balanced fertilizer in early spring as new growth emerges. Like many hostas, 'Granada' is susceptible to slug and deer damage; monitor regularly and take protective measures if these pests are present in the garden.
