Overview

Registered in 2009, 'Gosan Mina' is a small hosta cultivar resulting from a cross between *H.* 'Golden Prayers' (pod parent) and *H. pulchella* (pollen parent). It is visually distinctive for its green leaves with greenish-yellow flat margins, and for emerging with golden yellow foliage that transitions to greenish yellow by bloom time.

In the Garden

This cultivar forms a flat mound reaching 6 inches (15.2 cm) in height and 12 inches (30.5 cm) in diameter, with a moderate growth rate. It is suited to partial to full shade in typical hosta-growing zones, and its small size makes it appropriate for rock gardens, troughs, or the front of shaded borders. Companion plants might include small ferns, *Heuchera*, or miniature *Epimedium*.

Care Notes

Water regularly during dry periods; apply a balanced fertilizer in early spring as new growth emerges. Slugs and deer may damage foliage, so monitoring and protective measures are advisable in areas where these pests are prevalent.
