Overview

Registered in 2003 by J. Wilkins, this large hosta cultivar results from a cross between a selfed seedling of *H.* 'DB-87-1' (pod parent) and *H.* 'Rhapsody in Blue' (pollen parent). It is distinguished by its blue-green leaves with creamy yellow margins, upturned wavy edges, and glaucous bloom on both leaf surfaces.

In the Garden

'Good Vibrations' reaches 32 inches (81.3 cm) in diameter and 14 inches (35.6 cm) in height, with an upright growth habit and moderate growth rate. It performs best in partial to full shade, typical for blue-green hostas, and pairs well with ferns, heucheras, and other shade perennials. Its substantial leaf substance and wavy margins provide textural contrast in mixed borders or as a specimen plant.

Care Notes

Water regularly during dry periods, particularly in the first growing season. Apply a balanced fertilizer in early spring as new growth emerges. The thick leaves offer some resistance to slugs, though monitoring is advisable in damp conditions.
