Overview
Registered in 1995 by R. Savory and introduced through Savory Gardens, this small hosta cultivar is a hybrid of *H. nakaiana* seedling. Its distinctive coloration combines blue-green leaf centers with medium gold, slightly rippled margins, with a glaucous bloom present on both leaf surfaces.
In the Garden
‘Golden Jubilee’ forms a compact mound reaching 6 inches (15.2 cm) in height and 12 inches (30.5 cm) in diameter, with a moderate growth rate. The leaves are 3 inches (7.6 cm) long and 2 inches (5.1 cm) wide, with six vein pairs and rounded bases. It performs best in partial to light shade, typical for gold-margined hostas, and pairs well with other small woodland perennials such as ferns or heucheras. Its small stature makes it suitable for troughs or the front of shaded borders.
Care Notes
Provide consistent moisture during establishment, and apply a balanced fertilizer in early spring as new growth emerges. Like many hostas, it may require protection from slugs and deer in garden settings.
