Overview
Registered in 1982 by K. Anderson, this medium-sized hosta is distinguished by its bright yellow leaf margins against a green center, creating a strong gold-edged variegation. The leaves exhibit a satiny sheen on the upper surface, with 11 pairs of veins and dimensions of 7.5 inches (19.1 cm) in length and 5.5 inches (14.0 cm) in width.
In the Garden
Mature plants reach approximately 15 inches (38.1 cm) in height with a spread of 24 inches (61.0 cm), forming a rounded clump suitable for mid-border positions. It performs best in partial to dappled shade, where the gold margins remain brightest without scorching. This cultivar pairs well with ferns, heucheras, and other shade-tolerant perennials, and its medium size makes it appropriate for mixed container plantings.
Care Notes
Water regularly during dry periods to maintain consistent soil moisture, particularly in warmer exposures. Apply a balanced fertilizer in early spring as new growth emerges. Like most hostas, it is susceptible to slug and deer damage, so protective measures may be necessary in areas where these pests are prevalent.
