Overview
Registered in 1986 as a sport of *Hosta* 'Fascination', this small cultivar is distinguished by its green leaves with yellow margins. The cordate leaf base and ten vein pairs are consistent with its parentage, while the gold edge provides a clear visual contrast to the darker center.
In the Garden
Reaching 16 inches (40.6 cm) in height and 20 inches (50.8 cm) in diameter, this compact hosta is well suited to the front of a shaded border or as an edging plant. Its small size makes it appropriate for container culture. It performs best in partial to full shade, where the gold margins remain most vivid. Companion plants such as ferns, heucheras, or small woodland perennials complement its low, mounding habit.
Care Notes
Provide consistent moisture, especially during dry periods, and apply a balanced fertilizer in early spring as new growth emerges. Like most hostas, it is susceptible to slug and deer damage, so protective measures may be necessary in areas where these pests are prevalent.
