Overview
Registered in 1989 by S. Bond, 'Goldbrook Gold' is a medium-sized hosta derived from a hybrid of *Hosta sieboldiana*. It is visually distinctive for its green leaves with bright yellow margins and cordate leaf bases, reaching 9 inches (22.9 cm) in length and 7 inches (17.8 cm) in width with 11 vein pairs.
In the Garden
This cultivar forms a clump 30 inches (76.2 cm) in diameter and 23 inches (58.4 cm) in height, making it suitable for mid-border positions in partial to full shade. Its gold margins provide contrast when paired with dark-leaved perennials such as *Heuchera* or ferns. It is not recommended for container culture due to its medium size.
Care Notes
Provide consistent moisture, especially during dry periods, and apply a balanced fertilizer in early spring as growth emerges. Like most hostas, it is susceptible to slug and deer damage; monitor regularly and apply controls as needed. It performs reliably in typical hosta-growing zones.
