Overview
Registered in 2008, *Hosta* 'Glamour' is a small-sized cultivar notable for its creamy white leaf centers bordered by dark green, flat margins. The lance-shaped leaves, measuring 9.5 inches (24.1 cm) long and 2.7 inches (6.9 cm) wide, exhibit a slightly shiny upper surface and dull underside, with seven to eight vein pairs. Its pod parent is *Hosta* 'Beatrice' and pollen parent is *Hosta* 'Hadspen Hawk'.
In the Garden
Reaching a mature diameter of 20.3 inches (51.6 cm) and height of 10.9 inches (27.7 cm), 'Glamour' forms a compact, mound-like clump with a fast growth rate. It performs well in partial to full shade, typical for hostas, and is noted for being a good grower for a creamy white-centered plant. Its small size and elegant form make it suitable for rock gardens, container plantings, or as a front-of-border accent, pairing well with ferns or other shade-tolerant perennials.
Care Notes
Provide consistent moisture during the growing season, applying a balanced fertilizer in early spring as new growth emerges. Like most hostas, 'Glamour' may require protection from slugs and deer in areas where these pests are prevalent.
