Overview

Registered in 2008 by P. & J. Ruh, *Hosta* 'Gladys Holly' is a large-sized cultivar distinguished by its blue-green, heavily corrugated leaves with medium green, slightly rippled margins and a prominent glaucous bloom on the upper surface. The leaves are ovate with cordate bases, lightly cupped and folded, and exhibit a distinctive arched habit.

In the Garden

'Gladys Holly' reaches a mature diameter of 26 inches (66.0 cm) and a height of 14 inches (35.6 cm), with an upright growth habit and moderate growth rate. It performs best in partial to full shade, as typical for blue-leaved hostas, and pairs well with ferns, heucheras, and other shade-tolerant perennials. Its large, textured foliage makes it suitable as a specimen or in mixed woodland borders.

Care Notes

Provide consistent moisture, especially during dry periods, and apply a balanced fertilizer in early spring as new growth emerges. As with most hostas, slug and deer damage may occur; monitor and manage as needed in typical hosta-growing zones.
