Overview

Registered in 1986 by J. Craig and A. Summers with the American Hosta Society, *Hosta* 'Ginko Craig' is a small-sized cultivar of unknown parentage. It is visually distinguished by its dark green leaves with white margins and a compact, low-growing habit.

In the Garden

'Hosta 'Ginko Craig' reaches a mature diameter of 10 inches (25.4 cm) and a height of 4 inches (10.2 cm), with scapes rising to 18 inches (45.7 cm). It performs best in partial to full shade and is well-suited for rock gardens, edging, or container cultivation due to its small stature. Companion plants include ferns, heucheras, and other small shade perennials.

Care Notes

Provide consistent moisture, especially during dry periods, and apply a balanced fertilizer in early spring as new growth emerges. Slugs and deer may cause damage, so monitor regularly and take protective measures if necessary.
