Overview

Registered in 2002 as a sport of *Hosta* 'Golden Sculpture', 'Garden Party' is a giant cultivar distinguished by its nearly round, blue-green leaves with gold margins and a medium green edge. The leaf surface carries a glaucous bloom on both sides, with moderate corrugation and cupping, and the scapes rise in greenish gold tones.

In the Garden

With a mature spread of 60 inches (152.4 cm) and height of 30 inches (76.2 cm), 'Garden Party' requires substantial space and performs best in partial to full shade in typical hosta-growing zones. Its upright, slow growth habit and large, textured foliage make it suitable as a specimen or as a backdrop for smaller perennials such as ferns or *Heuchera*. The gold margins brighten darker corners without requiring direct sun.

Care Notes

Water regularly during dry periods to maintain leaf turgor, and apply a balanced fertilizer in early spring as growth emerges. The glaucous bloom may be susceptible to slug damage, and deer browsing is possible in areas where these pests are active.
