Overview
Registered in 1983 by V. Sellers, this small sport is distinguished by its deep green leaves with gold margins, each leaf bearing four vein pairs and measuring 6 inches (15.2 cm) long by 4 inches (10.2 cm) wide. The foliage presents a striped appearance where the green center meets the gold border, creating a variegated effect.
In the Garden
'Hosta 'Garden Bouquet' reaches a mature diameter of 16 inches (40.6 cm) and a height of 26 inches (66.0 cm), with scapes rising 30 to 36 inches (76.2 to 91.4 cm) above the foliage. Its small size makes it suitable for the front of borders, rock gardens, or container plantings. It pairs well with other small hostas, ferns, and shade-tolerant perennials in partial to full shade conditions typical of hosta-growing zones.
Care Notes
Water regularly during dry periods, applying fertilizer in early spring as new growth emerges. Like most hostas, it is susceptible to slug and deer damage and benefits from protective measures in areas where these pests are prevalent.
