Overview

Registered in 1993, 'Frosty Morn' is a medium-sized hosta cultivar derived from a hybrid of *Hosta rupifraga*. It is visually distinctive for its blue-green leaves edged with medium gold, slightly rippled margins, and a glaucous bloom on both leaf surfaces.

In the Garden

This cultivar reaches a mature size of 9 inches (22.9 cm) in height and 21 inches (53.3 cm) in diameter, with individual leaves measuring 6.5 inches (16.5 cm) long and 6 inches (15.2 cm) wide. It performs best in partial to full shade, as is typical for blue-green hostas, and pairs well with ferns, heucheras, and other shade-tolerant perennials. Its medium size makes it suitable for border fronts or mixed shade beds.

Care Notes

Provide consistent moisture during the growing season, and apply a balanced fertilizer in early spring as new growth emerges. As with most hostas, protect from deer and monitor for slug damage, particularly on the glaucous foliage.
