Overview
Registered in 2010, 'Frosted Mini Hearts' is a miniature hosta derived from a cross between *Hosta* 'Korean Snow' and *Hosta* 'Faithful Heart'. It forms a compact mound of ovate, heart-shaped leaves that are green with white margins and speckled green-on-white variegation, giving a mottled appearance; the leaves have slightly shiny upper surfaces and very shiny undersides.
In the Garden
This miniature cultivar reaches approximately 4 inches (10.2 cm) in height and 11 inches (27.9 cm) in diameter at maturity, with a moderate growth rate and a dense, mound-like habit. It performs best in partial to full shade, as is typical for hostas, and is well suited to rock gardens, troughs, or the front of shaded borders. Its small size makes it an excellent candidate for container cultivation.
Care Notes
Water regularly to maintain consistent soil moisture, particularly during dry periods. Fertilize in early spring as new growth emerges. As with most hostas, slug and deer damage may occur and should be managed as needed.
