Overview

Registered in 2009, *Hosta* 'French Quarter' is a sport of *Hosta* 'Cajun Sunrise' and is distinguished by its nearly round, blue-green leaves with golden yellow margins. The leaf blades are moderately cupped and corrugated, with a slightly shiny upper surface and a thin glaucous bloom beneath.

In the Garden

This medium-sized hosta forms a dense, mound-like clump reaching approximately 16 inches (40.6 cm) in height and 35 inches (88.9 cm) in diameter, with a moderate growth rate. It performs best in partial to full shade, where the blue-green leaf centers and gold margins remain most stable. The bold foliage pairs well with ferns, heucheras, and other shade perennials; its medium stature makes it suitable for mid-border positions or as a specimen in woodland gardens.

Care Notes

Water regularly during dry periods to maintain consistent soil moisture, and apply a balanced fertilizer in early spring as new growth emerges. Like most hostas, 'French Quarter' is susceptible to slug and deer damage, so protective measures may be necessary in areas where these pests are prevalent.
