Overview

Registered in 2004, *Hosta* 'Frank Fetch' is a medium-sized cultivar of unknown parentage (pollen parent unknown) derived from *H. 'Pin Stripe'*. It is visually distinctive for its broadly ovate, medium green leaves with wide, light yellow margins that are slightly rippled, creating a strong contrast between the green center and the 1-inch-wide border.

In the Garden

'Frank Fetch' forms a mound-like clump reaching 12 inches (30.5 cm) in height and 24 inches (61 cm) in diameter, making it suitable for mid-border positions in shade to partial shade. Its dull leaf tops and slightly shiny undersides add subtle textural interest, and the wide, light yellow margins brighten darker areas of the garden. It pairs well with ferns or other shade-tolerant perennials and is large enough for groundcover use in shaded beds.

Care Notes

Provide consistent moisture, especially during dry periods, and apply a balanced fertilizer in early spring as growth emerges. Like most hostas, it may be susceptible to slug damage and deer browsing in typical hosta-growing zones.
