Overview

Registered in 2009 by W. Silvers, this medium-sized hosta arose as a sport of *Hosta* 'Fortunei Albopicta'. Its leaves are ovate with rounded bases, measuring 9 inches (22.9 cm) long and 6 inches (15.2 cm) wide, and feature creamy white centers bordered by green margins 0.4 inches (1.0 cm) wide. The foliage is distinctively wavy and corrugated, with ten pairs of veins.

In the Garden

'Foxfire Divine Winds' reaches a mature spread of 48 inches (121.9 cm) and a height of 20 inches (50.8 cm), with a moderate growth rate. It performs best in partial to full shade, typical for hostas, and its medium size makes it suitable for mid-border positions or as a groundcover under deciduous trees. Companion plants include ferns, heucheras, and other shade-tolerant perennials.

Care Notes

Water regularly to maintain consistent soil moisture, especially during dry periods. Apply a balanced fertilizer in early spring as new growth emerges. Like most hostas, it is susceptible to slug and deer damage, so protective measures may be necessary in areas where these pests are prevalent.
