Overview
Registered in 2009 from a cross between *Hosta* 'Pilgrim' (pod parent) and *Hosta* 'Shining Tot' (pollen parent), 'Floratini' forms a small, dense mound of blue-green leaves with contrasting gold margins. The foliage is ovate with rounded bases, lightly wavy edges, and a dull upper surface with a thin glaucous bloom beneath; each leaf bears five pairs of veins and measures 3.25 inches (8.3 cm) long by 2 inches (5.1 cm) wide.
In the Garden
Mature plants reach approximately 5.5 inches (14.0 cm) in height and 14 inches (35.6 cm) in diameter, with a fast growth rate that produces a compact, mound-like habit. This small cultivar is well suited to the front of borders, rock gardens, or container plantings, and performs best in partial to full shade with consistent moisture. Its restrained size and tidy form make it an effective edging plant or companion to other small perennials such as *Heuchera* or *Tiarella*.
Care Notes
Provide regular water during dry periods; apply a balanced fertilizer in early spring as new growth emerges. Like most hostas, 'Floratini' is susceptible to slug and deer damage, so appropriate management may be necessary in typical hosta-growing zones.
