Overview
Registered in 1999 by A. Malloy and M. Laviana, this small hosta is a sport of *Hosta* 'Pacific Blue Edger'. It is distinguished by intensely blue-green leaves with streaked margins, a flat leaf base, and dull surfaces on both sides.
In the Garden
'Hosta Flash Dance' reaches a mature size of 4.5 inches (11.4 cm) in height and 13 inches (33.0 cm) in diameter, making it suitable for the front of borders, rock gardens, or container culture. It performs best in partial to full shade, typical of most hostas, and pairs well with small ferns, heucheras, or other miniature perennials. Its compact habit also suits trough gardens or small-scale woodland settings.
Care Notes
Provide consistent moisture, especially during dry periods, and apply a balanced fertilizer in early spring as new growth emerges. As with many small-leaved hostas, slug and deer damage may occur and should be managed through routine monitoring or barriers.
