Overview
Registered in 2009, 'Fingerprint' is a medium-sized sport distinguished by a dark, watermark-like line between the leaf center and margin, combined with a seasonal reversal of colors between these zones. The broadly ovate, moderately corrugated leaves are blue-green with a golden yellow margin that transitions to green as the season progresses, and both surfaces bear a glaucous bloom.
In the Garden
This cultivar forms a dense, mound-like clump reaching 24 inches (61 cm) in height and 48 inches (121.9 cm) in diameter, with a moderate growth rate. It performs best in partial to full shade, where its leaf coloration and watermark effect are most pronounced. Suitable companions include ferns, *Heuchera*, and other shade-tolerant perennials; its medium size makes it appropriate for border fronts or woodland garden settings.
Care Notes
Provide consistent moisture, particularly during dry periods, and apply a balanced fertilizer in early spring as new growth emerges. Standard slug and deer precautions are advisable, as hostas are susceptible to both.
