Overview

Registered in 1999 by F. Coble, this small-sized sport of *Hosta* 'Lemonade' forms a compact, mound-like clump. Its dark green leaves are edged with a golden yellow margin approximately 0.5 inches (1.3 cm) wide, creating a distinct bicolor effect.

In the Garden

Reaching 15 inches (38.1 cm) in height and 26 inches (66.0 cm) in diameter, 'Faye Coble' is well-suited for the front of a shaded border or rock garden. It performs best in partial to full shade, where the gold margins remain brightest, and pairs effectively with smaller ferns or woodland groundcovers. Its modest size also makes it a candidate for container cultivation.

Care Notes

Water regularly to maintain even moisture, particularly during dry periods. Apply a balanced, slow-release fertilizer in early spring as new growth emerges. Like most hostas, it is susceptible to slug and deer damage; appropriate management may be required in typical hosta-growing zones.
