Hosta ‘Fatal Attraction’ is a registered cultivar () .

Year registered1999
Section classIII-4b

Overview

Registered in 1999, this medium-sized hosta cultivar was hybridized from *Hosta* 'Dorset Clown' as seed parent and *Hosta kikutii* as pollen parent. Its visual distinction lies in the broad, creamy white margins (approximately 3.5 cm wide) contrasting with a blue-green leaf center, combined with a slightly shiny upper surface and a glaucous bloom on the underside.

In the Garden

The plant forms a mound-like clump reaching 18 inches (45.7 cm) in height and 33 inches (83.8 cm) in diameter, with a moderate growth rate. It performs best in partial to full shade, typical for blue-leaved hostas, where the leaf color remains truest. The upright scapes, 19 to 20 inches (48.3 to 50.8 cm) tall, bear green stems. Companion plants include ferns, heucheras, and other shade-tolerant perennials.

Care Notes

Water regularly during dry periods, especially in the first growing season. Apply a balanced, slow-release fertilizer in early spring as new growth emerges. Like most hostas, this cultivar is susceptible to slug and deer damage; monitor and manage as needed. It is hardy in typical hosta-growing zones.
