Overview
Registered in 2007 by D. Van Eechaute and M. Fransen, this sport of *Hosta* 'Sky Dancer' is distinguished by its medium blue-green leaves with heavily rippled creamy white margins and a glaucous bloom on both surfaces. The foliage is nearly round with a rounded base, moderately wavy, and bears six to seven vein pairs; the leaf blade measures 6.5 inches (16.5 cm) long by 5.9 inches (15.0 cm) wide. The plant produces grayish-green scapes 15.4 to 21.3 inches (39.1 to 54.1 cm) in height, with notable white leaf bracts, and is recognized as a streaked breeder.
In the Garden
Reaching a mature diameter of 20.5 inches (52.1 cm) and a height of 14.6 inches (37.1 cm), this medium-sized cultivar forms a dense, mound-like clump with a fast growth rate. It performs best in partial to full shade, typical of most hostas, and is suitable for border fronts, woodland gardens, or as a specimen in shaded containers. Its blue-green and white variegation pairs well with ferns, heucheras, and other shade-tolerant perennials.
Care Notes
Provide consistent moisture during the growing season, and apply a balanced fertilizer in early spring as new growth emerges. Slugs and deer may damage the foliage, so monitor and manage as needed in typical hosta-growing zones.
