Overview
Registered in 2009 by K. Walek of the American Hosta Society, *Hosta* 'Elizabeth Levy' is a small, mound-forming cultivar of unknown parentage. It is visually distinctive for its blue-green leaves with golden yellow, slightly rippled margins, a dull upper surface, and a glaucous bloom beneath.
In the Garden
'Elizabeth Levy' is suitable for partial to full shade, where its compact size (leaves 6 in./15.2 cm long, 4 in./10.2 cm wide) and low, mound-like habit make it an effective groundcover or edging plant. It pairs well with other small hostas, ferns, and shade-tolerant perennials, and is well-suited to container culture due to its small stature.
Care Notes
Provide consistent moisture, especially during dry periods, and apply a balanced fertilizer in early spring as new growth emerges. Like most hostas, it may be susceptible to slug and deer damage, so monitoring and protective measures are advisable in typical hosta-growing zones.
