Overview

Registered in 2011, *Hosta* 'Elizabeth Ingolfsrud' is a selfed seedling of *Hosta* 'Flamboyant' and was introduced by breeder Bob Solberg. This large cultivar is distinguished by its blue-green leaves with gold margins, deeply impressed veins, and occasional streaking in the leaf tissue.

In the Garden

'Elizabeth Ingolfsrud' forms a mound-like clump reaching 48 inches (121.9 cm) in diameter and 20 inches (50.8 cm) in height, with a moderate growth rate. It performs best in partial to full shade, as is typical for hostas, and its large, broadly ovate leaves with cordate bases provide substantial textural contrast when paired with ferns, astilbes, or other shade perennials. The green scapes rise 23 to 24 inches (58.4 to 61.0 cm) above the foliage.

Care Notes

Provide consistent moisture during the growing season, particularly in warmer climates, and apply a balanced fertilizer in early spring as new growth emerges. As with many hostas, slug and deer damage may occur and should be managed through standard control methods.
