Overview
Registered in 1990 by M. Zilis as a sport of *Hosta* 'Frances Williams', 'DuPage Delight' is a large hosta distinguished by its blue-green leaf centers and contrasting gold margins. The leaves are broadly ovate, measuring up to 29.2 cm long and 24.1 cm wide, with 16 vein pairs and margins ranging from 0.6 to 2.5 cm wide.
In the Garden
'DuPage Delight' reaches a mature spread of approximately 114 cm and a height of 48 cm, forming a substantial clump suited to partial to full shade in typical hosta-growing zones. Its large, variegated foliage provides strong contrast when paired with ferns, heucheras, or fine-textured grasses. The chartreuse margins and blue-green centers make it effective as a specimen or in mass plantings in woodland borders.
Care Notes
Provide consistent moisture, especially during dry periods, and apply a balanced fertilizer in early spring as new growth emerges. Like many large-leaved hostas, 'DuPage Delight' is susceptible to slug and deer damage, requiring protective measures in areas where these pests are prevalent.
