Year registered2005
Section classIV-5b

Overview

A sport of *Hosta* 'Abba Dabba Do', 'Do Little' was registered in 2005 and is classified as a small cultivar. Its visual distinction lies in its medium green leaves with narrow, yellow, slightly rippled margins, combined with a more substantial leaf texture and more pronounced waviness along the leaf edge than its parent.

In the Garden

'Do Little' reaches a mature diameter of approximately 20 inches (50.8 cm) and a height of 15 inches (38.1 cm), with an upright growth habit. It is suited to partial shade and performs well in typical hosta-growing zones. Its compact size and slow growth rate make it appropriate for rock gardens, troughs, or the front of a shaded border, where it can be paired with other small perennials such as ferns or heucheras.

Care Notes

Provide consistent moisture during the growing season, particularly in dry spells, and apply a balanced fertilizer in early spring as new growth emerges. Like most hostas, 'Do Little' may be susceptible to slug and deer damage, so appropriate deterrents should be considered in areas where these pests are prevalent.
