Overview
Registered in 2007, *Hosta* 'Dixieland Delight' is a medium-sized cultivar resulting from a cross between (*H.* 'Swoosh' × *H.* 'Green Fountain') and *H.* 'Gold Regal'. It is visually distinguished by its blue-green leaves with wide, golden yellow margins, a glaucous bloom on the undersides, and a broadly ovate, lightly wavy and corrugated leaf blade.
In the Garden
'Dixieland Delight' forms a dense, mound-like clump reaching approximately 36 inches (91.4 cm) in diameter and 16 inches (40.6 cm) in height. It performs best in partial to full shade, typical for hostas, and is suitable for borders, woodland gardens, or as a specimen plant. Its medium size and bold foliage contrast well with ferns, heucheras, or other shade-tolerant perennials.
Care Notes
Provide consistent moisture, especially during dry periods, and apply a balanced fertilizer in early spring as new growth emerges. Standard slug and deer precautions are advisable, as both pests may damage the foliage.
