Overview

Registered in 2007, 'Dixie Cups' is a medium-sized hybrid derived from *Hosta* 'Korean Snow' (pod parent) and *Hosta* 'Abiqua Drinking Gourd' (pollen parent). The cultivar is visually distinctive for its nearly round, deeply corrugated blue-green leaves with cordate bases, moderate cupping, and tightly stacked flowers on upright scapes.

In the Garden

'Dixie Cups' forms a clump 24 inches (61.0 cm) in diameter and 15 inches (38.1 cm) tall, with an upright habit and moderate growth rate. It performs best in partial to full shade, typical of most hostas, and is suitable for borders, woodland gardens, or shaded foundation plantings. Its medium size and textured foliage make it a good companion for ferns, heucheras, and other shade-tolerant perennials.

Care Notes

Provide consistent moisture, especially during dry periods, and apply a balanced fertilizer in early spring as new growth emerges. Like most hostas, 'Dixie Cups' is susceptible to slug and deer damage; monitor regularly and use appropriate controls if needed.
