Overview

Registered in 1999 by an unknown hybridizer, *Hosta* 'Diva' is a giant cultivar distinguished by its large, cordate leaves with green centers and light green to golden yellow, slightly rippled margins. The leaf surfaces are dull on both sides, and the plant forms a substantial, mound-like clump.

In the Garden

Reaching approximately 46 inches (117 cm) in diameter and 23 inches (58 cm) in height, 'Diva' is suited to the middle or back of a border in partial to full shade, as typical for hostas. Its moderate growth rate and substantial size make it an effective specimen or groundcover in larger landscapes. The green and gold foliage provides contrast when paired with darker-leaved perennials such as ferns or *Heuchera*.

Care Notes

Provide consistent moisture, especially during dry periods, and apply a balanced fertilizer in early spring as new growth emerges. Like many large-leaved hostas, 'Diva' may be susceptible to slug and deer damage in typical hosta-growing zones.
