Overview
Registered in 2000, 'Dipsy Doodle' is a small hosta cultivar derived from a hybrid of *Hosta* 'William Lachman'. It is visually distinctive for its medium green leaves with heavily rippled, creamy white margins that are speckled into the green blade, and for its upright, compact growth habit.
In the Garden
This cultivar reaches a mature size of approximately 9 inches (23 cm) in height and 15 inches (38 cm) in diameter, with an upright form and moderate growth rate. It is suitable for partial to full shade in typical hosta-growing zones and works well in small borders, rock gardens, or containers given its small stature. Companion plants might include small ferns, heucheras, or other miniature hostas.
Care Notes
Provide consistent moisture, especially during dry periods, and apply a balanced fertilizer in early spring as growth emerges. As with most hostas, slug and deer damage may occur and should be managed with appropriate controls.
