Overview
Registered in 1985 by M. Zilis and T&Z Nursery, *Hosta* 'Diamond Tiara' is a sport of *Hosta* 'Golden Tiara'. This small cultivar is distinguished by its medium green leaves with white margins, forming a compact, rounded mound.
In the Garden
'Diamond Tiara' reaches approximately 14 inches (35.6 cm) in height and spreads to 25 inches (63.5 cm) in diameter, making it suitable for the front of borders, rock gardens, or container culture. It performs best in partial to full shade, typical of most hostas, and pairs well with small ferns, heucheras, or woodland groundcovers. Its modest size also makes it an excellent choice for trough gardens or as an edging plant along pathways.
Care Notes
Provide consistent moisture, especially during dry periods, and apply a balanced fertilizer in early spring as new growth emerges. Slugs may damage the foliage, and deer will browse the leaves, so monitoring or protective measures are advisable in areas where these pests are prevalent.
