Overview
Registered in 2015, *Hosta* 'Deborah' is a medium-sized cultivar of unknown parentage distinguished by its dark green leaf centers and creamy white margins of variable width, up to 1 inch (2.5 cm). The broadly ovate leaves with twisted tips and cordate bases are moderately corrugated, with dull surfaces both above and below.
In the Garden
This cultivar reaches 22 inches (55.9 cm) in height and spreads to 32 inches (81.3 cm) in diameter, with an upright growth habit and fast growth rate. It performs best in partial to full shade, as is typical for hostas, and pairs well with ferns, heucheras, and other shade-tolerant perennials. Its medium size makes it suitable for border fronts or as a specimen in shaded beds.
Care Notes
Provide consistent moisture, especially during dry periods, and apply a balanced fertilizer in early spring as new growth emerges. Like most hostas, 'Deborah' may be susceptible to slug and deer damage in typical hosta-growing zones.
