Overview

Registered in 2015 by an unknown hybridizer, *Hosta* 'Dani Adams' is a large, upright cultivar distinguished by its broadly ovate, moderately cupped leaves with green centers and gold margins, often exhibiting streaked green and yellow variegation along slightly rippled margins. The plant reaches 28 inches (71.1 cm) in height and 40 inches (101.6 cm) in diameter, with scapes rising 32 to 42 inches (81.3 to 106.7 cm) bearing green streaked flowers.

In the Garden

'Dani Adams' performs best in partial to full shade, typical of most hostas, where its large, corrugated leaves with 12 vein pairs and lightly twisted, wavy margins provide substantial textural contrast. At maturity, it forms a broad, upright clump suitable for mid-border or woodland garden positions, pairing well with ferns, astilbes, or other shade-tolerant perennials. Its large size makes it less suited for containers than smaller cultivars.

Care Notes

Provide consistent moisture during the growing season, particularly in warmer climates, and apply a balanced fertilizer in early spring as new shoots emerge. Slugs and deer may damage foliage; monitor regularly and employ barriers or repellents as needed in typical hosta-growing zones.
