Overview
Registered in 2012, *Hosta* 'Dancing in the Dark' is a small-sized cultivar resulting from a cross between *H. 'Venetian Blue'* and *H. 'Elvis Lives'*. It is visually distinctive for its narrow, lance-shaped, blue-green leaves with heavy rippling along the margins and a pronounced glaucous bloom on both surfaces.
In the Garden
This cultivar reaches a mature diameter of 24 inches (61.0 cm) and a height of 12 inches (30.5 cm), with an upright, moderate growth habit. It performs best in partial to full shade, typical of most hostas, and its compact size makes it well suited for the front of borders, rock gardens, or container plantings. Companion plants include small ferns, heucheras, or other miniature hostas that complement its blue-green foliage.
Care Notes
Water regularly to maintain consistent soil moisture, especially during dry periods. Fertilize in early spring as new growth emerges. Like most hostas, this cultivar is susceptible to slug and deer damage.
