Overview
Registered in 2005, *Hosta* 'Curves' is a medium-sized cultivar of unknown parentage, notable for its nearly round, heavily cupped leaves with a blue-green center and broad, creamy yellow margins. The leaf surface is moderately corrugated and dull above, with a glaucous bloom beneath, and the margins display a slight ripple.
In the Garden
'Curves' forms a dense, fast-growing mound reaching 15 inches (38 cm) in height and 26 inches (66 cm) in diameter. It performs best in partial to full shade, where the blue-green center and bright yellow margins remain most distinct. The substantial, textured foliage provides contrast alongside finer-leaved perennials such as ferns or *Heuchera*, and the glaucous scapes bearing pale flowers rise 17 to 21 inches (43–53 cm) above the clump in midsummer.
Care Notes
Provide consistent moisture, especially during dry periods, and apply a balanced fertilizer in early spring as growth emerges. Like most hostas, 'Curves' is susceptible to slug and deer damage; monitor regularly and apply controls as needed in typical hosta-growing zones.
