Overview
Registered in 2011 by an unknown hybridizer, *Hosta* 'Crows Landing Rippled Truffles' is a medium-sized cultivar distinguished by its ovate, dull green leaves with narrow, greenish-yellow, slightly rippled margins and notably long, wavy, twisting leaf tips. The parentage is unknown, but the plant forms a dense, mound-like clump.
In the Garden
This hosta performs best in partial to full shade, typical for the genus, and reaches a mature spread of 30 inches (76.2 cm) with a height of 14 inches (35.6 cm) at a moderate growth rate. Its medium size and muted green-and-gold variegation make it suitable for the middle to front of a shaded border, where its twisted leaf tips add textural interest. It pairs well with ferns, heucheras, and other shade-tolerant perennials.
Care Notes
Provide consistent moisture, especially during dry periods, and apply a balanced fertilizer in early spring as new growth emerges. Like most hostas, it is susceptible to slug and deer damage, so appropriate control measures may be necessary in areas where these pests are prevalent.
