Overview

Registered in 2003 by an unknown hybridizer, *Hosta* 'Crossroads Parrot' is a medium-sized cultivar with blue-green foliage and a distinctive vase-shaped habit. Its most notable features are the long, pointed leaves with slightly rippled margins and twisted tips, combined with a glaucous bloom on the leaf undersides.

In the Garden

'Crossroads Parrot' forms an upright, moderate-growing clump reaching 16 inches (40.6 cm) in height and 30 inches (76.2 cm) in diameter. It performs best in partial to full shade, typical of most hostas, and its blue-green leaves provide good contrast when paired with gold- or chartreuse-foliaged plants such as *Hosta* 'Sum and Substance' or *Carex elata* 'Aurea'. The vase-shaped form makes it suitable for mid-border positions or as a specimen in shaded beds.

Care Notes

Water regularly during dry periods, particularly in the first growing season. Fertilize in early spring as new growth emerges; standard slug and deer precautions are advisable for this cultivar.
