Overview

Registered in 1983 by G. Hutchins, *Hosta* 'County Park' is a medium-sized variegated cultivar of unknown parentage. Its leaves feature green margins surrounding a lighter center, with 8 to 12 pairs of veins on each 6-inch-long, 5-inch-wide leaf.

In the Garden

'County Park' forms a compact clump 8 inches high and 16 inches in diameter, making it suitable for the front of a shaded border or under deciduous trees. It performs best in partial to full shade, where its variegation remains most distinct. Pair with ferns or small woodland perennials such as *Heuchera* or *Tiarella* for textural contrast.

Care Notes

Water regularly during dry spells to maintain even soil moisture, and apply a balanced slow-release fertilizer in early spring as new growth emerges. Slugs and deer may feed on the foliage; monitor and manage as needed in typical hosta-growing zones.
