Overview
Registered in 2010, *Hosta* 'Cosmic Delight' is a large cultivar resulting from the cross (*H.* 'My Mom' × *H.* 'Cosmic Hippie') pollinated by *H.* 'Ma Breeder'. It is visually distinctive for its nearly round, moderately cupped leaves with streaked light green centers and margins that transition from greenish white to creamy white, combined with a dull, moderately corrugated surface.
In the Garden
Reaching 24 inches (61 cm) in height and 38 inches (96.5 cm) in diameter, 'Cosmic Delight' forms an upright, moderate-growing clump suited to partial to dappled shade in typical hosta-growing zones. Its broad, textured leaves provide contrast when paired with finer-textured perennials such as ferns or astilbes. The plant's substantial size makes it effective as a specimen or in the middle to back of a shaded border.
Care Notes
Provide consistent moisture, especially during dry periods, and apply a balanced fertilizer in early spring as new growth emerges. Like most large-leaved hostas, this cultivar is susceptible to slug and deer damage, so protective measures may be necessary in areas where these pests are prevalent.
