Overview

Registered in 1991 by Kuk's Forest Nursery, this small hosta cultivar was derived from a hybrid of *Hosta* 'Neat Splash'. 'Cordelia' forms a compact mound of glossy, dark green leaves with creamy white margins, each leaf bearing six pairs of veins and reaching 7 inches (17.8 cm) in length by 3 inches (7.6 cm) in width.

In the Garden

Suitable for partial to full shade, 'Cordelia' reaches a mature spread of 16 inches (40.6 cm) and a height of 11 inches (27.9 cm). Its small stature makes it appropriate for the front of borders, rock gardens, or container plantings. It pairs well with other small shade perennials such as ferns, heucheras, or miniature epimediums.

Care Notes

Provide consistent moisture during the growing season, particularly in warmer climates, and apply a balanced slow-release fertilizer in early spring. As with most hostas, foliage may be damaged by slugs and snails, and deer may browse the leaves; typical hosta-growing zones are suitable for this cultivar.
