Hosta ‘Cool Dreams’ is a registered cultivar () .

Overview
Registered in 2010, this medium-sized hosta cultivar resulted from a cross between *Hosta* 'Halcyon' (pod parent) and *Hosta* 'Silver Bowl' (pollen parent). 'Cool Dreams' is visually distinctive for its broadly ovate, moderately cupped blue-green leaves that carry a glaucous bloom on both surfaces, forming a compact, mound-like habit.
In the Garden
'Cool Dreams' reaches 15 inches (38.1 cm) in height and spreads to 32 inches (81.3 cm) in diameter, making it suitable for the middle of a shaded border or as a specimen in a woodland garden. Its slow growth rate and medium size suit it for typical hosta-growing zones in partial to full shade. The blue-green foliage pairs well with yellow-leaved companions such as *Hosta* 'Sum and Substance' or with fine-textured ferns and shade-tolerant grasses.
Care Notes
Provide consistent moisture during dry periods, particularly in the first growing season. Apply a balanced, slow-release fertilizer in early spring as new growth emerges. Like most blue-leaved hostas, this cultivar is susceptible to slug and deer damage, so appropriate deterrents may be necessary in high-pressure areas.
