Overview
Registered in 1996, 'Concordia Petite' is a miniature hosta derived from a cross between *Hosta venusta* (pod parent) and *Hosta* 'Golden Tiara' (pollen parent). It forms a compact, mound-like clump and is visually distinguished by its small, variegated leaves with dark green margins and a dull surface on both sides.
In the Garden
This cultivar reaches a mature spread of approximately 14 inches (35.6 cm) and a height of 5 inches (12.7 cm), making it well suited for the front of borders, rock gardens, or trough plantings. It performs best in partial to full shade, typical of hosta-growing zones, and pairs well with other small perennials such as *Heuchera* or *Tiarella*. Its miniature size also makes it an excellent candidate for container cultivation.
Care Notes
Water regularly to maintain consistent soil moisture, especially during dry periods. Fertilize in early spring with a balanced, slow-release formulation. As with many hostas, slug and deer damage may occur and should be managed through appropriate barriers or deterrents.
