Section classI-1

Overview

Registered in 2012 from unknown parentage, 'Cobblestones' is a giant hosta distinguished by its heavily corrugated, nearly round leaves with medium green, slightly rippled margins and a slightly shiny upper surface. The cultivar's most notable feature is its very puckered leaf texture, which gives the foliage a cobbled appearance.

In the Garden

This cultivar forms a large, mound-like clump reaching 60 inches (152.4 cm) in diameter and 36 inches (91.4 cm) in height with a moderate growth rate. It performs best in partial to full shade, typical for hostas, and its substantial leaves make it suitable as a specimen plant or for use in large borders and woodland gardens. The 38 to 39 inch (96.5 to 99.1 cm) green scapes bear flowers that rise well above the foliage.

Care Notes

Provide consistent moisture during dry periods, particularly in the first growing season. Apply a balanced fertilizer in early spring as new growth emerges. The thick, corrugated leaves offer moderate resistance to slugs and deer, though monitoring is still recommended in areas with high pest pressure.
