Overview
Registered in 2011, *Hosta* 'Coach Beets Dotson' is a small-sized cultivar of unknown parentage. It is visually distinctive for its ovate, dull green leaves with white margins, further marked by white speckling and streaks of white and yellow, accompanied by slightly rippled leaf edges.
In the Garden
This small hosta reaches a mature spread of approximately 17 inches (43 cm) and a height of 10 inches (25 cm), making it suitable for the front of borders, rock gardens, or as an edging plant. Its moderate growth rate and upright, rhizomatous habit allow it to form a tidy clump; it pairs well with other small perennials such as *Heuchera* or *Tiarella* in partial to full shade. Given its compact size, it is also well-suited for container culture.
Care Notes
Provide consistent moisture and apply a balanced fertilizer in early spring as new growth emerges. As with most hostas, protect from slugs and deer, which may damage the foliage.
