Overview
Registered in 2009 as a sport of *Hosta* 'Rosedale Blend Master', 'Circular Saw' is a medium-sized cultivar distinguished by its medium green leaves with broad, flat golden yellow margins. The foliage is broadly ovate with cordate bases and lightly wavy edges, and the leaf surface is dull.
In the Garden
'Circular Saw' forms a mound-shaped clump reaching 16 inches (40.6 cm) in height and 30 inches (76.2 cm) in diameter, with a moderate growth rate. It performs best in partial to full shade, typical for hostas, and pairs well with ferns, heucheras, and other shade-tolerant perennials. Its medium size makes it suitable for mid-border positions or as a specimen in shaded beds.
Care Notes
Water regularly to maintain consistent soil moisture, especially during dry periods. Apply a balanced fertilizer in early spring as new growth emerges. Like most hostas, 'Circular Saw' may be susceptible to slug and deer damage, so appropriate protective measures should be considered in areas where these pests are prevalent.
