Overview
Registered in 2013, *Hosta* 'Chorus Girl' is a medium-sized cultivar of unknown parentage distinguished by its contorted growth habit: the blue-green leaves with pale yellow to gold margins emerge from the clump in irregular orientations, giving the plant a tousled, cupped appearance. The nearly round, moderately corrugated leaves measure 5.5 inches (14.0 cm) in both length and width, with 11 vein pairs, a cordate base, and a glaucous bloom on the undersides.
In the Garden
'Chorus Girl' reaches 11 inches (27.9 cm) in height and 21 inches (53.3 cm) in diameter at maturity, with an upright, moderate growth rate. It performs best in partial to full shade, typical for blue-leaved hostas, where the gold margins remain most vivid; in brighter conditions the leaf centers may develop a lime-green cast. Its compact size and contorted form make it suitable for the front of a shaded border, rock gardens, or containers, paired with fine-textured shade perennials such as ferns or *Heuchera*.
Care Notes
Provide consistent moisture during the growing season, applying a balanced fertilizer in early spring as new growth emerges. Like most hostas, it is susceptible to slug and deer damage, so protective measures may be necessary in areas where these pests are prevalent.
