Overview

Registered in 2015 as a sport of *Hosta* 'Little Caesar', 'Caesar Augustus' is a small, mound-forming cultivar distinguished by its creamy white leaf centers bordered by medium green, slightly rippled margins. The broadly ovate leaves, measuring 4 inches (10.2 cm) long and 3 inches (7.6 cm) wide, exhibit moderate twisting and a dull surface on both sides.

In the Garden

With a mature height of 9 inches (22.9 cm) and spread of 12 inches (30.5 cm), 'Caesar Augustus' is suitable for the front of borders, rock gardens, or as an edging plant in partial to full shade. Its compact size and moderate growth rate make it an appropriate choice for container cultivation. Pair with other small shade perennials such as ferns, heucheras, or miniature hostas to create textural contrast.

Care Notes

Provide consistent moisture, particularly during dry periods, and apply a balanced, slow-release fertilizer in early spring as new growth emerges. Like most hostas, this cultivar is susceptible to slug and deer damage; monitor regularly and apply control measures as needed.
