Overview
Registered in 2007 by K. Walek, this miniature hybrid between *Hosta venusta* and *Hosta clausa* forms a dense, low mound of lance-shaped leaves with green centers and heavily rippled greenish-gold margins. The leaves are lightly twisted and deeply wavy, creating an unusual textured appearance, while the green scapes rise well above the foliage.
In the Garden
Reaching 5 inches (12.7 cm) in height and 13 inches (33.0 cm) in diameter, 'Brooklynn's Baby Doll' is well suited to the front of borders, rock gardens, or trough plantings where its compact habit and distinctive leaf form can be appreciated. It performs best in partial to dappled shade with consistent moisture, typical of hosta-growing zones, and pairs effectively with other small perennials such as heucheras or miniature ferns. Its small size and dense mound make it an excellent candidate for container cultivation.
Care Notes
Water regularly to maintain even soil moisture, particularly during dry periods. Apply a balanced slow-release fertilizer in early spring as new growth emerges; standard slug and deer precautions are advisable where these pests are prevalent.
